Posted Jun 22nd, 2022

What is your favorite summer snack? We got a crystal ball and found it was “ice cream.” Also, guess what? The favorite ice cream flavor in America is “chocolate” oh yeah! In fact, according to the International Dairy Foods Association IDFA, Americans consume 1.6 billion gallons of sweet and delicious ice cream each year.

Who said extra chocolate? Sure, you can get an explosion of chocolate with a Blue Bunny Load’d Bars Super Fudge Brownie, and what about peanuts? Your kids will be delighted with America’s favorite, crunchy, creamy Reese’s ice cream.” Yeap, there are many different flavors and options to choose from, like Popsicle Mango, Strawberry & Vanilla Swirl Fruit Twisters; what a yummy combination!

Also, kids have confessed their favorite frozen treats are vanilla cones with sprinkled vanilla peanuts and gummy bears on top. All these flavors and added treats make us feel like going outdoors and enjoying a sunny and warm day at the park.

Yes, summer is here, and you and your kids can enjoy Newburyport’s seasonal activities at varied park spaces, where you can find playgrounds and open areas to enjoy summer programs and events. There are also educational programs offered during the summer at Maudslay State Park

So, get ready for a fun summer and get some delicious ice cream at your favorite parlor. Here is a list of ice cream places in Newburyport you can visit during summer with your children.  We also include some recommendations about ice cream eating during braces treatment.

Among the many historical records, Marco Polo brought sorbet-style desserts to Italy after learning of them while in China. Dolce Freddo Gelato is an Italian-style & family-owned business that offers ice cream (gelato) and Italy-style frozen treats. But, thinking of Italy, gelato goes well with coffee, especially Italian-style Cappuccino. So, being in Massachusetts and having that Italy taste that near is a reason to be delighted.

A bright idea, a quick summer treat for $1. Yes, they have a baby cone you can taste as you go. At Simply Sweet, you can also get Blake’s Ice Cream, and guess what? They have over 40 flavors.

Can You Eat Ice Cream Cones With Braces?

Yes, you can eat ice cream cones with braces. However, your teeth might be a little sensitive after adjustment visits. Therefore, we recommend you skip ice cream or frozen treats at least the next 2 to 3 days after braces adjustments.

We also recommend our patients limit sugar-added beverages and foods. Sugar creates a breeding environment for bacteria to grow, resulting in tooth decay, gum disease, and other oral health-related problems.

If possible, after drinking or eating sugary added products, we recommend patients and kids brush their teeth and thoroughly rinse their mouths. Also, parents of kids wearing braces should consider accompanying and supervising their children and take special care of their oral hygiene habits.

At Pavlo Orthodontics, we are committed to serving the Newburyport community. Dr. John Pavlo’s family has resided in the area for over 100 years. This is part of what makes Pavlo Orthodontics commit to kindly serving the community.
